CDM Smith is currently looking for a Finance Specialist for its new office in Jakarta in support of the Millennium Challenge Account - Indonesia Green Prosperity project (2015 – 2018). Under this project, CDM Smith and its international team of experts will be providing Program Management Services.

Supervisor : Finance Manager

Position Summary:
Reporting to Finance Manager, the Finance Specialist will be part of a team of long-term and short-term professionals. The Finance Specialist will assist Finance Manager in financial management of the project and support in tax function of CDM Smith in compliance with the established standard and procedures, including the statutory regulation.

Specific responsibilities and tasks:

  • Manage accounts payable and office operational expense, and assist to oversee project inventory and non-expendable property/supplies
  • Prepare payment voucher and verify invoice received from vendors or individual consultant
  • Manage monthly tax compliance for vendor and consultant payment as well as outgoing invoice to client with regards to the VAT and withholding tax; including lodgment of tax reporting to the Tax Office
  • Keep track on withholding tax slip and liaise with vendor/consultant as necessary for distribution
  • Prepare output VAT invoice using e-Faktur system based on commercial invoice and prepare a letter requesting for output VAT invoice serial number
  • Review of companies’ input tax, i.e., tax invoices received from suppliers to ensure the validity/creditability of VAT invoices
  • Prepare tax forms/VAT returns
  • Support annual tax statutory reporting by preparing fiscal vs commercial reconciliation
  • Prepare monthly tax reconciliation between tax report and general ledger
  • Monitor employee and consultant advance and ensure the liquidation has been collected properly
  • Review travel advances and travel expense reports for accuracy
  • Effectively research, track and resolve accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
  • Complete accounting functions in accordance with the established standards, policies and procedures
  • Directly assist Finance Manager as needed
Minimum Skills and Requirements:
  • Education: Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 3 - 5 years working experience in finance, accounting and taxation area
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of Indonesia taxation rules
  • Experience in using tax e-SPT software is a must
  • Experience in using Quickbooks accounting software is preferable
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools
  • Results-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and judgement
  • Ability to work quickly, accurately and pay attention to details
  • Competent level of oral and written communication skills, including experience in cross-cultural environment and international settings
  • Well-organized, flexible and enjoy the challenges in supporting diverse people
