for
Specialists in Sanitation
SNV Indonesia is seeking highly qualified candidates to fill anticipated positions in its Rural and Urban Sanitation Programmes:
Communication for Behaviour Change experts:
preferable background in Social Sciences (Psychology, Sociology,
Anthropology, Communication Sciences). At least 7 years’ experience with
Hygiene Promotion Campaigns, Sanitation Demand Creation (notably CLTS
approach and/or with STBM programmes) or large scale communication for
behaviour change initiatives targeting rural communities. Ability to
conceptually design and adjust communication strategies and tools
according to the profile of target audience and programme goals is an
essential skill.
Sanitation Programme Managers: professionals with at least 10 years’ experience in managing WASH/WATSAN programmes. The position requires excellent
leadership, management and relationship-building skills. Ability to
plan, monitor, evaluate and demonstrate the impact of the programme is
essential. Experience in team management in the context of
multi-cultural, international organizations is also required. The
candidate should have a strong background in WASH issues and in
particular a good knowledge of demand driven sanitation approaches.
Urban Sanitation Public Policy Experts:
with at least 15 years’ experience in programme management and a proven
track record of support to Local and National Governments in steering
Urban Sanitation. The preferred candidates will have a sound knowledge
about the major urban sanitation policies and programmes in Indonesia,
like USDP, IUWASH, IndII – Water and Sanitation or equivalent.
Background in Public Policy/Institutional Development is highly
desirable.
Public Finance Experts:
the successful candidates will have experience in providing technical
assistance to Local and/or National Governments in Public Finances
planning, control and reporting. Proven track record in supporting urban
sanitation programmes is highly desirable and at least 10 years
experience in programme/project management is required.
Sanitation Communication and Advocacy Experts:
at least 5 years experience in developing communication and advocacy
strategies to support information about and engagement with sanitation
challenges. The preferred candidates will have a proven track record in
supporting sanitation demand and ability to engage with the private
sector as well.
Sanitation engineers: with
a relevant university degree (sanitary, environmental or civil
engineering), the preferred candidates will have at least 15 years of
experience. This experience must include a proven track record in
designing and leading feasibility studies for on site and off site
sanitation systems. Ability to design Operation and Maintenance
procedures as well as capacity to assess and engage private sector
counterparts when relevant is highly desirable. Experience in
procurement is critical.
Provincial and District Government Advisors: the
preferred candidates will have at least 5 years’ experience in
providing technical support, advice and on the job training for Local
Governments staff on urban sanitation issues. Ability to address gender
issues in the context of sanitation challenges and develop pro-poor
strategies is highly desirable.
Monitoring and Evaluation Expert:
with at least 5 years’ experience, the desired candidate will have a
relevant university degree and proven track record with planning,
monitoring and evaluation methods (both qualitative and quantitative).
Capacity to tailor planning and monitoring tools to urban sanitation
programme needs is highly desirable.
