About our organization
The World Agroforestry Centre (also known as the
International Centre for Research in Agroforestry or ICRAF) is an independent
research institution which generates science-based knowledge about the complex
role trees play in agricultural landscapes and rural livelihoods. As part of
the Centre’s work to bring tree-based solutions to bear on poverty and
environmental problems, researchers – working in close collaboration with
partners – are developing new technologies, tools and policy recommendations
for increased food security and ecosystem health.
The Centre’s headquarters are located in Nairobi,
Kenya, and research is conducted in 34 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin
America. We are supported by the Consultative Group on International
Agricultural Research (CGIAR) and receive funding from over 50 different
donors.
About the position
Under the supervision of SEA Regional
Coordinator, the Regional Executive Assistant ensures through team work effective
and efficient functioning of the regional office, optimal support to the Regional
Coordinator on management and research issues, effective monitoring and
management of agreements and contracts between ICRAF-SEA and donor communities,
confidentiality in all aspects of the assignment, maintenance of protocol
procedures, management of information flow and follow-up on deadlines and
commitments made.

Requirements
- A relevant bachelor degree (S1), or equivalent qualifications and experience
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in an international working environment
Personal
Competencies
- Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written
- Strong computer skills in word processing and other relevant office applications software packages (i.e. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access)
- Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and to take initiative and exercise good judgment
- Demonstrated high degree of courtesy, tact, discretion, good judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Competency in personal organization, priority setting and accuracy, with the ability to work effectively under time pressure and manage multiple priorities and meet deadline
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with people of different national and cultural backgrounds and to be an effective team player
- Strong service orientation, creativity, and capability to be flexible to respond to changing requirements
