The British Council in Indonesia Job Vacancy: Communications Officer, Jakarta

The British Council in Indonesia is recruiting for the post of :

Communications  Officer

1 (one) position, 1 year contract - renewable - Jakarta
 
Purpose of job:To give administration and operational support to the Internal/External Communications Manager and necessary support to the Marketing and Communication Team in Indonesia as required.

We have three key Strategic Business Units (SBU)- English, the Arts, Education and Society, through which we engage with leaders, policy makers, influencers and opinion formers, from senior politicians through to teachers, artists and youth leaders. 

Accountabilities, responsibilities and main duties: 
  • Support the Internal/External Communication Manager in daily operational. This will be to help provide support to the development of external collaterals. 
  • Provide support in administration, logistics, marketing and communications related activities. This includes taking minutes of meetings and support the regular reports and articles on the achievements of British Council Indonesia. It will also include support to the Press Officer with issuing press releases, setting up meetings with the media and ensuring up to date contact details are kept on our database. 
  • Maintain clear and proper accounts of activities expenditure ensuring that all payments transaction and the supporting documents are properly recorded and in compliance to the British Council finance policy and procedure. 
  • Event management: This includes but not limited to provide administrative and logistics support for internal and external events. Support the regular meeting with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Ensure the Marketing and Communication contacts database are well maintained, accurate and updated. It includes publication data bank. 
  • Support the scorecard data is completed with the target deadline. 
  • Desk research in Marketing and Communication areas as required.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS :
Internal
  • Marketing and Communications Team, Country Director, SBU Teams, Performance and Evaluation Officer, Teaching Centre Team, Global Information System Team, Regional colleagues as advised by the Internal/external Communications Manager.
External
  • Internal partners of British Council. i.e. British Embassy, British Chamber of Commerce, etc. 
  • External Partners of British Council (it includes partners, sponsors, clients, consultants, vendors, etc).
Other Important Features Or Requirements Of The Job
  • This position may require regular travels around Indonesia and occasional travels within the region. Evening hours and/or weekend might also be required as needed.
