This positions are for Indonesian Nationals only, based in Area Office, Fixed Term Contract for one year (extension possible). And on C level.

Area Coordinator - Eastern Indonesia
 
Job Purpose:
The Area Coordinator will coordinate all projects (with assigned project managers) in Eastern Indonesia - and s/he manages all operations and support staff in the Areas to secure sound project implementation and coordination and the overall implementation of projects in the area. S/he is responsible to implement a One Programme Approach in the Area that includes integration between thematic work and projects in the area. The Area Coordinator is also the key representative of Oxfam in the areas, and who will ensure good partnerships with key stakeholders. S/he will be responsible for managing the risks associated with Oxfam works in the areas and the management of the area office(s) in Eastern Indonesia in line with the agreed OCS. The Area Coordinator will assist Oxfam to achieve an integrated Oxfam program in the Eastern Indonesia Area based on the strategy that is designed for the three Change Goals Economic Justice (EJ), Gender Justice (GJ) and Rights in Crisis (RiC). Projects Oxfam is implementing in the Area represent a strong voice of local people based on collaboration with an extensive network of partners that will create lasting changes in the lives of poor and vulnerable people by influencing changes in policy and practice amongst the most influential decision makers.

Job Requirements:
At the least five years proven experience in project development and implementation including experience in the economic sector and particularly with small holder farming in agri-business value chains. This should include a mature understanding of relevant issues derived from field experience in inclusive sustainable business development and working with the private sector.

At least three years’ proven experience of project management including managing budgets, staff and funding of different projects. This is to include excellent people management skills, with a good understanding of team development and proven financial management skills.
First degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline (preferably economics, politics, sociology, humanities) or substantial experience.

Good understanding of community development issues, with experience of or ability to work directly with local NGOs or communities in one or more of the following issues: value chain development, income generation/ livelihood approaches / gender and of how this may link to Oxfam’s objectives on gender and humanitarian work, as well as in the use of impact assessment to inform project development choices. Fluency in spoken and written English. 

Ability to influence and liaise effectively with key stakeholders, such as military, local authorities, etc. Proven evidence of leadership skills including challenging, motivating and developing a team through periods of change. Masters degree in a relevant discipline (preferably economics, politics, sociology, humanities) or substantial experience. Knowledge of Eastern Indonesia in terms of its political, economic and social trends plus a good understanding of the key development in the region
