The British Council Indonesia Recruitment: Programme Officer - Society, Jakarta

The British Council in Indonesia is recruiting for the post of :Programme Officer - Society 1(one year) position, 1 year contract - renewable - Jakarta

Purpose of job:To implementation projects in Society by supporting by working with partner, consultants, stakeholders and wider target in Indonesia and UK to meet British Council’s strategic objective.

Our work in Society helps citizens and institutions contribute to a more inclusive, open and prosperous world and connects local issues to global themes, ranging from social action to diversity and youth issues.

Accountabilities, responsibilities and main duties: 
  • To support SBU teams Operational management: This includes but not limited to provide admin and logistics supports to Programme Manager, and other member of Society team; Maintaining clear and proper accounts of project expenditure ensuring that all payments and the supporting documents are properly recorded. 
  • Financial Management: Assisting the Project Manager for ensuring compliance to British Council and client (e.g. Arthur Guinness Fund, Bank Mandiri) finance policy and procedure
  • Event management: This includes but not limited to provide admin and logistics support for project events such as focus group discussion, workshop, training and external and internal meetings; drafting, distributing, collecting and summarising feedback questionnaire for future event and programme improvement.
Other Responsibilities and main duties 
  • To ensure accurate recording of all contacts in the CRM/local database system in consultation with the Programme Manager; 
  • To ensure all duties are delivered in line with the British Council’s policy on Equal Diversity and Inclusion (EDI). EDI is taken into account when planning and delivering activity
Key relationshipsInternal: Country Directorate, Sr. Program Managers, Program Managers, Society Team, counterparts in the UK

External: Partners, sponsors, clients, consultants, stakeholders, vendors

Other important features or requirements of the job (e.g. travel, unsocial/evening hours, restrictions on employment etc)
  • Regular travel within Indonesia; regular weekend and evening work related to events
