Microfinance Consultant
SNV Netherlands Development Organisation
SNV is an international not-for-profit
development organization that works in 38 of the poorest countries around the
world covering water and sanitation, agriculture and energy. In agriculture, SNV works with smallholder
farmers, pastoralists, forest-dependent communities and companies to provide
innovative, market-based solutions to the issues of sustainable markets, food
security and climate change. SNV is registered in Indonesia under the Ministry
of Home Affairs since October 2013
SNV is now seeking the services of a Microfinance consultant for the Australia Indonesia Partnership for Promoting Rural Income
through Support for Markets in Agriculture (AIP-PRISMA). PRISMA is designed to
be an effective mechanism for embedding Markets for the Poor (M4P) in
Indonesia. PRISMA aims to increase rural incomes in five provinces of Eastern
Indonesia to contribute to a 30%, or more, increase in net incomes for 1
million poor rural female and male farmers, 300,000 of which will be reached by
June 2017.
SNV Indonesia, as Co-Facilitator
organisation for PRISMA, will carry out Cassava interventions in Trenggalek, East
Java. SNV is looking for a short
term Microfinance consultant. Frequent travel to the
intervention area is required.
Responsibilities
- Approach and engage finance provider to provide credit for fertilizer provision for cassava farmer in East Java
- Identify suitable credit scheme for cassava farmers
- Deal with one finance provider on credit provision for cassava farmers through cassava and fertilizer agents

Station
Surabaya based with
frequent travel to Trenggalek, Tulungagung, Sampang
Selection
Criteria
- A university degree in economics, agricultural economics, agribusiness, business management or other relevant discipline
- A minimum of 5 years’ experiences working in Microfinance development in Indonesia, preferably with microfinance for rural development
- Results orientated with an entrepreneurial attitude
- Experience working in private sectors is an advantage
- Excellent communication skills both english and bahasa
