MCA - Indonesia Vacancy: Economic Data Analyst, Jakarta

Millennium Challenge Account - Indonesia (MCA-Indonesia) is a trustee institution that represents the Government of Indonesia to implement a five-year (2013-2018) Millennium Challenge Corporation's Compact Program, a major pillar of the United States-Indonesia Comprehensive Partnership and the largest single pledge made by the United States to Indonesia to date.

MCA-Indonesia has three projects under Compact Program: Green Prosperity, Community-based Health and Nutrition to Reduce Stunting and Procurement Modernization. Our projects are designed, managed and implemented by Indonesians, for the Indonesian people. Our most important development work happens where it should be: the districts and the villages.

Our goal is to reduce poverty through economic growth. Our program is country-driven, reform-centered, and results-focused in order to maximize its effectiveness and long-term sustainability.

To reach the goal, MCA-Indonesia is seeking highly dynamic and deliverable-oriented professionals for a better Indonesia :

Economic Data Analyst

In General, Economic Data Analyst will assist the Economic (Econ) Team for conducting and managing data needs for economic analysis of the projects. This may include primary data collection from surveys and focus groups, as well as secondary data collection such as extracting or coding data, not only from the existing monitoring frameworks of MCA-Indonesia but also from paper records. Economic Data Analyst will be assigned for any additional assembly, cleaning and processing necessary to conduct the analysis required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Econ Team in identify and Inform List of data and assumption submitted by applicants to be used in the final economic analysis
  • Assist the Econ Team in addition to highlighting the important data that have provided in the Expression of Interests (EoIs), Proposals and additional sources of information to be employed. These concerns may stem from apparent lack of information contained in the EOIs and proposals, and potential variation from other sources of information.
  • Proactively assist Chief Economist of MCA-Indonesia to support MCA-I’s Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Team, especially where uncertain timing and geographic roll-out of activities may have strong impacts on evaluation possibilities.
  • Proactively assist the Econ Team in conducting Impact Evaluation (IE) activities to ensure that the IE results will: 
    • Address the key evaluation questions;
    • Be of value for Indonesia’s ongoing efforts to achieve the broader aims of the compact, including improvement of public procurement outcomes (value for money for the public and economic growth); improved nutritional and educational outcomes; and enhanced environmentally sustainable growth; and
    • Be sufficiently rigorous to with stand scrutiny from stakeholders and the academic community.
