Financed by private and public donors, Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung will start implementing 2 projects over a period of 5 years to promote sustainable smallholder robusta coffee production in South Sumatera Province (Oku Selatan). The project aims to provide farmer training on good agricultural practices, product quality and marketing, farmer organizational development, etc.
Job OpportunityThe project is looking for a Commercial Coordinator who will be based in South Sumatra Province, in charge of the following tasks:
- To design and coordinate the implementation of a farmer organizations’ (FO) marketing system.
- To train FO Marketing Managers on coffee marketing, coffee logistics and value chain operations.
- To assist in the coordination of deliveries of coffee from the individual farms to collection points and to bulking centers (FO stores).
- To advise FOs on market developments, prices and marketing options.
- To coordinate with the FO Marketing Managers processing and transport of coffee to exporters in Bandar Lampung.
- To negotiate with service providers such as transporters, processors, etc.
- To liaise with buyers (exporters) on behalf of farmer organizations.
- To design an internal quality control system at FO level and coordinate its implementation.
- To ensure FO stores are well managed and coffee stocks are well recorded.
- To be the main contact person for FO Marketing Managers and assist where required.
- To report weekly to the Project Manager.
Duration of AssignmentDefinite contract for 3 years with option for prolongation.
Profile
Experience:
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience in coffee trading, logistics and product quality control.
Required:
- Indonesian candidate with a university degree in Business, Trade, Marketing, Supply Chain Management or related subjects.
- Proficiency in standard MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook and Project).
- Proficiency in English (verbal and written); concise reporting skills.
- Self initiative and communication skills; accustomed and willing to work under pressure.
- Willingness to live and work in remote, rural areas.
Desired:
- Candidates from West Lampung or South Sumatra are preferred.
