Design, Monitoring & Evaluator Coordinator
The Design, Monitoring & Evaluator Coordinator will be based in Jakarta, Indonesia for a full time 12-month position potentially renewable on an annual basis on 1 January 2015.

The Organization
Search for Common Ground is a non-profit, independent, secular, non-government organisation, dedicated to conflict transformation and peace building with headquarters in Washington DC, USA and Brussels, Belgium. SFCG’s mission is to transform how individuals, organisations and governments deal with conflict - away from adversarial approaches and toward cooperative solutions. SFCG has programs in 35 countries across Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the United States. SFCG Indonesia was founded in 2002 and currently focuses on a wide range of issues including transformative youth leadership, inter-faith relations and gender equality. Summary of Position
Search for Common Ground seek a professional, motivated and creative DM&E Coordinator to lead the design, implementation of all SFCG Indonesia DM&E activities for the program office, ensuring the program members and partners are fully involved in all processes, learning and reflection. This position reports directly to Indonesia Country Director with support from SFCG’s Institutional Learning Team (ILT).

The position will begin on 01 January 2015.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Providing leadership in the development of monitoring system (e.g. the development of indicators, M&E plans, data collection tools, evidence based processes, and knowledge management plans). 
  • Closely work with the Institutional Learning Team (ILT), especially with the Asia Regional DM&E Specialist in developing long term DM&E vision of SFCG Indonesia, Project M&E plan and strategies. 
  • Lead SFCG efforts in all aspects of M&E design and coordination for the program office. 
  • Start up, design, coordinate and provide oversight of project baseline study. 
  • Contribute and support in carrying out in conflict analysis.
  • Work with partners to ensure effective project monitoring. 
  • Build the M&E capacity of program staff and implementing partners with the help of ILT. 
  • Coordinate and oversee evaluation activities. 
  • Design M&E frameworks for new projects. 
  • Instil a learning/ reflective office culture across the program team. 
  • Provide ongoing and detailed database information to the country Director, Director of Program, and Regional Director. 
  • Analyse data collected through program monitoring and share findings with key internal and external stakeholder on a regular basis. 
  • Supporting project design and proposal writing process within the country team, especially in developing project logic, M&E section, and the log frame.
  • Manage short terms consultants recruited for M&E related assignment.
This description is not exhaustive; the DM&E Coordinator will be required to undertake other duties that are broadly in line with the above key responsibilities.

Qualifications Required:
  • Indonesian national with strong DM&E skill set, ideally within the peacebuilding and conflict sensitivity sector. 
  • At least 3 years applied experiences in research and DM&E in conflict or development programs.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s level degree in conflict resolution, international relations, or a related social science field or statistics. 
  • Proven quantitative and qualitative research skills (provide baseline/evaluation reports produced) 
  • Strong methodological background, DME systems experiences and the technical capacity to provide support and guidance to project staff on design, monitoring and evaluation
  • Knowledge of logical and results frameworks, evaluation design and methodologies, indicator development, and the ability to coach and train others in their use 
  • High standards of integrity, professionalism, and impartiality, highly organised and detail oriented, and ability in thrive in a dynamic, fluid environment. 
  • Team player and positive personality.
  • Ability to multi task and work under tight deadlines 
  • Written and oral proficiency in English and Indonesian language. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other database and analysis software. 
  • Comfortable in working with those from different caste/ethnic groups and across political lines; 
  • Ability to travel and work in the field when necessary.
Desirable
  • Degree in relevant subject. 
  • Interest and knowledge of conflict resolution. 
  • Knowledge of statistical tools such as SPSS. 
  • Participatory design, monitoring and evaluation experiences.
Salary: Negotiable upon qualifications and work experience.
