Starting in 2011, the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture,
with the assistance of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), implemented
the International Inspiration programme to increase the access to physical
education for students with disabilities in schools. This programme aimed: to provide young
people of all abilities with better access to high quality, inclusive physical
education, sport and play; to build the skills of teachers and young leaders;
to raise the profile of sport; and to increase interest and enthusiasm for
sport in the wider community.
Helen Keller International-Indonesia (HKI-Indonesia) will review the
implementation of the International Inspiration programme to: document good
practices at programme schools in West Jakarta (DKI Jakarta), Pasuruan (East
Java), and Subang (West Java); develop the resource package for inclusive
schools; sensitize national and sub-national officials about the programme; and
train master trainers for future expansion of inclusive physical
education.
To conduct this review, Helen Keller International-Indonesia is looking
