Food For The Hungry Vacancy: Program Manager, Medan


Yayasan Fondasi Hidup (FH) is an independent non-governmental organization based in Medan, North Sumatera and has program operations in North Sumatera: Deli Serdang and Langkat and West Sumatera:  Siberut Island Mentawai.  FH has been working in Indonesia since 2005 and aims to alleviate all forms of poverty through holistic programming and approach.

Currently, FH works in multiple sectors, namely Health, Education, Livelihood and Disaster Risk Reduction. Our works includes the cross cutting issues which are Environment, and Gender Balance and Equity. Our approach is to walk with families and community leaders to bring sustainable transformation.

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Indonesian individual to fill the position of:

Title: Program Manager

Reporting Relationship: Country Director

Terms of Contract: This is a long term position. However, initial contract will be Fixed Term, 1 (one) year, with possible extension upon satisfactory performance

Job Summary:
Successful candidate shall be responsible to develop, manage and monitor the implementation integrated program work plan across all sectors and crosscutting issues as mentioned above. He/She also is expected to provide strategic and operational guidance to the field staffs.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
Direct Programs
  • Provides leadership in the development and implementation of integrated programs which are in compliance with FH standards to achieve the country strategy and FH vision and mission;
  • Leads the development, design, design, planning, implementation and evaluation of programs;
  • Leads the program department and supervises the program officers and area coordinators;
  • Ensures that programs are monitored closely;
  • Establish networks with various stakeholders including government agencies and other development organization.
Manages Program Related Budget and Funding
  • Works closely with Finance and Admin Department to ensure financial accountability of FH program operations, adherence to program budgets and timely program cash flow request;
  • With the direction of the Country Director, identifies and helps secure the necessary resources including funding by private, public and government donors;
Senior Leadership Team Member
  • Represent the program unit and present the program unit’s opinion and concerns to the Senior Leadership Team
  • Actively participates in Senior Leadership Team to help define and stay aligned with FH strategy and priorities 
  • Actively participates in Senior Leadership Team to discuss and resolves issues
Qualifications
  • Minimum Bachelor degree from/but not limited Social Science;
  • Male/Female
  • At least  Five year of professional experience on planning, implementing and monitoring programs 
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
  • Good organizational skills and able to deal with a broad range of staff and to respond to their queries.
  • Demonstrate a high level of commitment and responsibility towards completing assignments efficiently, accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Strong communication skills with people from diverse cultural background and nationalities
  • Good English speaking and writing skills.
  • Pro-active and flexible approach to problem solving and job responsibilities, and able to work in a team. 
  • Good in time management
  • Willing to work occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Able and willing to travel to remote and insecure locations for short periods of time and at short notice.
