Job Summary:
Yayasan Tirta Lestari works with disadvantaged Indonesian communities to improve water & sanitation conditions through educational activities and participatory projects. The overall purpose of the Lead Public Health Promoter job is to provide sound leadership and management in engaging community members to use and maintain project facilities and also on educational aspects that compliment the Yayasan Tirta Lestari’s following programs:
  • Clean Water Program
  • Improved Sanitation Program 
  • Solid Waste Management Program
Job Description:

Start date: as soon as possible

Base location: Jakarta Selatan (Pejaten)

Report to: Program Coordinator

Work hours: 8:30 – 17:30, Monday – Friday (40 hours a week)

Salary: Negotiable


Job Responsibilities:
Strategic and Operational Planning 
  • Guide and collaboratively develop and implement Annual Strategic & Operational Plans with respective team members;
  • Ensure timely and effective delivery of outputs; 
  • Successfully replicate a minimum of one project per program through training participants to mobilize their neighboring RT or equivalent; 
  • Assist in organizing resources to respond appropriately to specific local emergency relief efforts; 
  • Identifying training needs arising from strategic and local agendas and developing and delivering appropriate training to other agencies, such as schools and local communities
Leadership and Management 
  • Provide visionary leadership and sound decision-making in achieving goals;
  • Mobilize communities to participate in the design, implementation and maintenance of projects as well as design viable strategies which are both respectful of the local culture and sensitive towards the female population;
  • Ensure establishment and maintenance of relationships with communities, village councils and local government;
  • Prioritize effectively and be flexible to support team members where needed;
  • Adhere to filing system for all activities and ensure that information is organized accordingly to the reporting and auditing needs of the program.
Program Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on the effectiveness of program outputs and in achieving quarterly and annual targets via indicators;
  • Produce written reports to capture program activities;
  • Ensure complete and comprehensive project documentation on schedule;
Efficient Financial and Resource Management
  • Ensure support documentation for associated projected and actual expenses is completed competently and timely for budget approval; 
  • Ensure program accounting and budgets use resources efficiently and stay within budget; 
  • Work with Finance & Admin Coordinator to ensure that all transactions are transparent and accountable;
Communication and Fundraising 
  • Assist in preparing reports, applications and deliverables for grants, sponsorship and other donations;
  • Maintain open communication with the Board;
  • Assist in conducting awareness activities with both supporters and local communities, including planning major events;
  • Ensure provision of content for program updates for website, monthly newsletters, and other communication materials;
  • Maintain and nurture professional donor relations;
  • Liaise with government, companies, community groups, and other NGO’s to
  • Develop mutually beneficial networks, particularly for the communities we serve;

Job Qualifications:
  • Exceptional team management and leadership skills 
  • Proficient in both English and Bahasa Indonesia 
  • Excellent technical writing skills 
  • Bachelors, or Masters level education in a relevant field 
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience focused on leading public health promotion program, management of development programs to promoting sustainable development of community health and hygiene statuspreferably working on institutional and community-based water and sanitation program. 
  • Mastering and experiencing tools and methodology of public health promotion and community development especialy in urban context.  
  • Commendable initiative, independence, integrity, and reliability 
  • Previous experience in community motivation and emergency response 
  • Creative thinker and strong communicator 
  • Definite social ethic and volunteer experience 
  • Logical and competent decision-making skills 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet 
  • Ability to work collaboratively 
  • Understanding and sensitivity of social and cultural diversities
