fill the following position for our office in Tapanuli Selatan:
SLP Palm Oil Coordinator
Responsibilities:
- Manage rural development projects in palm oil and environmental management in conjunction with the CI team, plantations, and communities. Manage projects in the SLP region will involve proactively managing field implementation, coordinating with field project managers on work plan implementation, tracking and recording progress against key partnership milestones, working and informing plantation company partners, informing government and reporting to corporate.
- Develop Strategy for Corporate Engagement - The Manager will work with staff from CI Indonesia teams, Regional, and CELB to develop practical and targeted strategies for private sector engagement that will support implementation of CI local, national and international strategies.
- Cultivating and Managing Corporate Partnerships - The Manager will strengthen and drive existing plantation, CSO and government relationships and build new relationships with target companies within the palm oil sector.
- Establish the connections required for the training-of-trainers program(s) based on existing technical assistance programs, generic tools available across the globe with smallholder oil palm training.
- Developing and providing training tools and modules where necessary for professional farming techniques, organisational development and administrative support; Development, sharing and knowledge of basic RSPO and ISPO smallholder training implementation tools.
Qualifications:
- Experience in oil palm smallholder/community development related training programs relating to better agricultural practices
- Experience in developing structured, well thought out training programs and in overseeing their implementation in rural areas of Indonesia.
- Sound knowledge and experience of RSPO/ ISPO guidelines, specific and extensive oil palm estate knowledge/experience
- Experience in undertaking gap analyses of smallholder training and training needs assessments
- Excellent and experience communication skills at a community level and in dealing with famers, rural leaders and local government officials
- Experience in coordination of projects and project management (project cycle of planning, implementation, M&E)
- Experience in planning, facilitation, organization and implementation of consultancies and workshops
- Ability health-wise and willingness to travel and at times live remotely for up to four-six weeks per trip and up to 40% of the year in total
- Good ability in both Bahasa Indonesia and English
