Save the Children Vacancy: PROJECT OFFICER - Integrating Child Centered CSR, Bandung

Since 1919, we have been fighting for children's rights, saving their lives and providing hope for brighter futures worldwide.  In Indonesia, Save the Children currently works in eleven provinces, has staff of approximately 160 local professionals, and programming in Child Protection, Education, Health and Nutrition, Disaster Risk Reduction, and Humanitarian Response.  Save the Children in Indonesia is seeking to fill the following position:

PROJECT OFFICER - Integrating Child Centered CSR (ICCC),
to be based in Bandung, 1 position

Integrating Child Centered CSR is a project that focuses on introducing the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, as well as the Children's Rights and Business Principles framework to the private sector in Indonesia. The project will work with the retail and hospitality industries in West Java as these industries make up a large size of the West Java economy and have a tremendous reach into the lives of children and youth. The 3 year project is funded by DANIDA and will aim to work closely with the private sector in developing tools as well as ways to integrate Child centered CSR in the business practices. 

Reports to: Project Manager

Dimensions:
The Project Officer for ICCC is focal person for the project in Jakarta and responsible to liaise and maintain good relationship with the business partners and key stakeholders. S/he will work with universities to coordinate initial research and situational analysis of the Children's Rights and Business Principles in West Java and nationally. S/He will contribute to technical development of training materials and toolkits through consultation with Project Coordinator and Advocacy and Communications Manager, and monitoring of implementation quality, involving youth and community members.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work closely with the targeted private sector partners and other stakeholders to implement the project activities in Jakarta according to the established project work plan.
  • Facilitate meetings and events to raise awareness and introduce the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the Children's Rights and Business Principles to the private sector and the general public.
  • Close collaboration with local stakeholders including establishing and developing strong and effective relationship with key targeted business associations and relevant organizations. This will include collaborating with universities to initiate initial assessment and situational analysis of Child Centred CSR.
  • Together with project Coordinator provide preparation of the baseline, midline, and end line assessment of the Project. 
  • Together with the Project Coordinator and Communications and Advocacy Manager coordinate development of toolkits, information and education materials related to promote integration of Children's Rights and Business Principles by the private sector. 
  • Conduct other related duties as assigned. 
  • Coordinate with the Finance and Administration unit in Bandung Sub Office to produce accurate and timely financial and administration reports.
  • In coordination with Logistic and Procurement Officer, S/he will work on appropriate logistics management including procurement, fleet management, and provision of goods and materials
QUALIFICATION
  • Bachelors University Degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience in and knowledge of CSR and the private sector.
  • Proven experience in driving processes, keeping deadlines, engaging various stakeholders.
  • Sound understanding of children's issues and corporate governance in an Indonesian context.
  • Experience in capacity building e.g. planning and conducting trainings, training of the trainers, curricula development etc.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to write high quality reports and other project documents in Indonesian and English.
  • Excellent communication skills and networking capacity with stakeholders such as corporate, business associations and government.
  • Experience in advocacy, communication and outreach.
  • Knowledge and experience in advocacy around child rights.
  • Experience from/knowledge of the hospitality industry and/or the retail industry is an advantage.
  • Commitment  to  and  understanding  of  Save  the  Children's  aims,  values  and principles  including rights-based approaches.
