World Neighbors (WN) is an International non-governmental development agency (NGO), working in Indonesia to inspire people and strengthen communities to find lasting solutions to hunger, poverty and disease, and promote a healthy environment.
 
WN is seeking highly qualified candidates to fill the position of Program Officer.  Under the direction of the Senior Program Associate, the Program Officer will be responsible for managing a portfolio of program partners, and is responsible for their organizational capacity-building, as well as providing technical support focusing on WN’s holistic, people-centered rural development approach.
 
The position is based in WN’s office in Bali, with an expectation of approximately 65% travel to remote program locations, staying in very basic accommodation.
 
Summary of Key Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Provide support to WN Indonesia programs and partners (local NGOs and CBOs) through effective management of partner contracts; implementation of activities, trainings and workshops; development of proposals, workplans and budgets; and assessments of potential new sub-awardees.
  2. Support and improve partner’s technical capacity in all agreed upon program priority areas,  program management, designing or developing learning/advocacy materials, data analysis, information documentation, and knowledge management.
  3. Ensure regular monitoring and review of achievements of assigned partners against their work plans as well as donor and government requirements through program site visits, regular partnership meetings, workshops, and trainings that best builds partner capacity in fulfilling WN and donor requirements.
  4. Assume a coordination, cooperation and communications role between WN field programs and partners with relevant local government.
  5. Maintain up to date stakeholder networks, and keep abreast of all relevant opportunities for future fund-raising.
  6. Ensure close and effective coordination with all WN finance and administration staff, especially in relation to the setting and monitoring of partners and program budgets.
  7. Ensure the timely submission of partner financial and narrative reports to WN.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or Area Representative.
     
    Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor degree (S1) in a relevant discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in the development sector with rural communities in Indonesia.
  • Knowledge and practical experience in two or more of the following – organizational strengthening, sustainable agriculture, climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, rural livelihoods, natural resource management, community health, food security, WASH.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Willing and able to travel regularly to World Neighbors program areas outside Bali (NTT, NTB and Timor-Leste).
  • Proficiency in speaking and writing English is a plus.
