Swisscontact, the Swiss non-profit organisation engaged in co-operation for private sector development, will implement the Regional Tourism Development Program – WISATA Phase II as part of the Indonesian Swiss Development Cooperation. The program aims at increasing competitiveness of selected tourism destination in order to create income and job opportunities for the local population in the tourism sector.

General requirements:
  • Team player with strong communicational, interpersonal and organizational skills; 
  • Good command of written and spoken English, excellent computer skills (MS office) 
  • University degree in relevant field of study (those lacking the stated educational requirements but having an excellent track record are encouraged to apply); 
  • Interest in development work and eco-tourism; 
  • Excellent work ethic, self-starter and flexibility in schedule 
  • Willing to relocate to Wakatobi, South East Sulawesi

For program activities in Wakatobi, South East Sulawesi Swisscontact is looking for enthusiastic and independent professionals in the following field of
expertise:

Junior Field Office Manager
Main task: Managing field office in Wakatobi incl. administration and accounting, responsible for timely implementation of project activities to strengthen local destination management in Wakatobi, incl. progress monitoring of and reporting. Relationship management between the private sector, public institutions and the Destination Management Organisation.

In addition assist local communities in CBT to improve their internal organisation and services to offer their cultural environment to the tourism sector; support and qualify local farmer groups and handicrafts producers through capacity building to improve the variety and quality of their products and link them to the local tourism market.

Requirements: Experience of at least 3 years in not for profit project management, team leadership, organizational development and reporting in English; Work experience in tourism planning and development and hands on practical business knowledge; Ability to manage multiple interventions; Experience in small business development and income generation and in dealing with local and national government authorities; Minimum age 32.
