Technical Officer BCC (Behaviour Change Communication)
Australian Government funded HIV Cooperation Program for Indonesia
Position based in Jayapura
GRM International in collaboration with the Burnet Institute is the managing contractor for the HIV Cooperation Program for Indonesia (HCPI), the largest
component of the Australia Indonesia Partnership for HIV.
HCPI is seeking applications from suitably
qualified individuals for the position of Technical
Officer BCC based in Jayapura. With support and supervision from the Health
Promotion Adviser, the Technical Officer BCC will conduct the following tasks:
- Ensure effective liaison, collaboration and coordination with the KPAP, PromKes PHO, CSO, the media and other key stakeholders involved in providing BCC support.
- Support the Papuan provincial AIDS commission media-communications working group to implement the provincial AIDS communications strategy and work-plans. Support HIV information campaigns using a mix of mass media programming and IEC resources for ongoing HIV prevention activities by community based networks.
- Support the provision of planning and provide technical support to selected local level AIDS commissions to develop resource mobilisation strategies for the implementation of campaigns, including the provision of IEC resources to existing community based networks.
- Support the co-ordination of community HIV prevention information campaigns involving a multi-sectoral response from government, non-government and private sector agencies.
- Co-ordinate, monitor and report on progress of activities and performance of partners.
- Carry out other duties as directed by the Health Promotion Adviser and the Team Leader or their delegate.
Interested candidates for this position should have
the following qualifications and experience:
- Excellent communication skills, fluency in Indonesian;
- S-1 Degree (or equivalent) in relevant subject area;
- Experience in communications;
- Experience of working with Papuan communities;
- Good understanding of HIV/AIDS and BCC;
- Experience in media-communication strategies and implementation of work-plans in a participatory way;
- Computer skills
