Coordinator for the MCA Indonesia funded Data Collection for the
Baseline Survey of the Community-Based Health and Nutrition to Reduce
Stunting Project in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Project Description
The project will implement a baseline survey for an impact evaluation of the Community-Based Health and Nutrition to Reduce Stunting Project. It will cover 4,560 households, along with puskesmas (health center) and desa (village)-level surveys across Central Kalimantan, West Kalimantan and South Sumatra. The project will collect data that will be analyzed by the Evaluation Team of the Community-Based Health and Nutrition to Reduce Stunting Project to make statements about the Nutrition Project’s impact.
Role & Responsibilities
The Regional Field Coordinator will act as a survey manager in his/her region (Central Kalimantan, West Kalimantan or South Sumatra) and will be responsible for the day to day management of the survey. He/she should spend 100% of his/her time in the survey locations when fieldwork is underway. The Regional Coordinator reports to the Technical Team Leader.

Specific Responsibilities
- Ensure that the necessary permits for his/her region are obtained, including if necessary, calling local kabupaten, kecamatan and desa heads and regional offices
- Help Technical Team Leader in managing the recruitment of the field teams
- Together with Technical Team Leader and Data Manager, manage, implement and conduct training
- Manage and supervise the field teams in his/her region during fieldwork
- Ensure quality control procedures are in place during data collection
- Make all efforts to overcome problems that disturb progress of the survey
- Ensure that the field teams have the resources needed to implement the survey
- Manage the data archiving process
- Record and report on substantive/non substantive problems shown in the field, and solve them
- Assist in the data cleaning process and report preparation once the fieldwork is completed
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team, to achieve specific and measurable results
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Economics, Sociology, Demography, Statistics, Geography, Public Health, Nutrition, Public Policy, Business, or Math
- Experience implementing at least four household surveys of similar size (at least 2000+ households)
- At least five years of experience managing household surveys
- Experience working in any of the assigned study provinces (South Sumatra, Central Kalimantan, or West Kalimantan) preferred
- Experience with database management, including expanding, correcting and entering new records in databases, running consistency checks, and running queries from the database to generate error reports
- Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia required
- Good knowledge of English highly desirable
- Experience working with MCC highly desirable
