The Center for Disaster Risk Management
and Community Development Studies (CDRM&CDS) is a department of HKBP
Nommensen University and located in Simalingkar, Medan. The programs are
focused on disaster risk management and capacity building of the communities.
The CDRM&CDS has 4 field projects: Simalingkar, Nias, Pakpak (North
Sumatera) and Mentawai (West Sumatera), and currently seeking for following
position:
Job Title : Assistant
for Community Program Manager
Based on : Medan
The Assistant
for Community Program Manager is to
assist the Community Program
Manager (CPM) in coordinating the
planning, implementation, supervision, monitoring and evaluation of Center for
Disaster Risk Reduction and Community Development Studies (CDRM&CDS) and other program matters. This also
involves advocacy and networking coordination and proposal writing for the
whole program.
The Assistant
for Community Program Manager is
based in the central office in
Simalingkar, Medan, but is required to regularly undertake periodic
supervision and monitoring visit to all projects. S/he will work closely with all field coordinators and
livelihood development officer and works closely with the Finance, Administration and HR Manager; and
reports directly to Community Program Manager
Responsibilities:

Assist the Community Program Manager in strategic planning and
proposal development for funding supports.
·
Assist the Community Program Managers in overall program
coordination, management and support of all CDRM&CDS projects including the
monitoring of project implementation.
·
Assist Community Program Manager to do periodic program evaluations
for impact, and recommend adjustment for improvement.
·
Assist Community Program Manager to reviewing and developing the
program guidelines and overseeing their application.
·
Assist Community Program Manager, in collaboration with the finance
department, develop program budgeting, in line with CSO and monitor program
spending.
·
Assist Community Program Manager in managing and developing the
human resources.
·
Assist Community Program Manager to supervise staff working under
his/her leadership.
·
Assist Community Program Manager coordinate advocacy and networking.
Level of
Responsibility & Authority:
This is a program
coordination and middle management position. The position is classified as
Grade 7 in the CDRM&CDS pay scale.
Job Requirements:
Technical skills
& Experiences:
· At least 3 years of experience in a program
management position in community development, management and/or emergency work
with NGOs.
· Strong leadership skills,
interpersonal skills and human resource development and development ability.
· Ability about programmatic and
strategic thinking and vision about future of program strategy and development.
·
Knowledge in
participatory, rights-based community development or willingness to learn.
· Fluent spoken and written
English language skills and computer literacy.
Desirable
qualifications:
·
Formal qualifications in social and development studies are
desirable.
·
Willingness to travel to remote project areas.
·
Cultural sensitivity, team spirit and a can-do attitude of service.
·
Embraces the vision, mission, and values of the CDRM & CDS and
is committed to work words meeting its goals and objectives.
·
Interest and commitment to work with the poorest communities to empower
them.
