Project Manager
Position Summary
The
position supports URS International Development (IDEV) through the
provision of high level project management skills, client relationship
management and contributes to business development.
The
Project Manager
will be motivated and prepared to work flexible hours, in Jakarta and
elsewhere in Indonesia. The Project Manager will work under the
strategic direction of the Office Manager, PT URS and closely with
colleagues in the team with the objective of delivering high quality
consulting and project management services to PT URS clients. The
position’s major responsibilities are the contract and financial
management of international development projects within Aid and Private
Sectors. Additional tasks include project technical inputs,
contributions to broader corporate goals, and participation in business
development activities through the preparation of proposals.
Responsibilities/Objectives
To
support the provision of IDEV services in the following areas:
Project Management
In
accordance with URS Quality Management System and specifically the
project management procedures, lead and take responsibility for
professional management, including financial management, of
international development projects contracted to PT URS.
The
role includes managing and taking responsibility for establishing and
maintaining a sound client relationship through professional delivery
of:
a) Project start-up
b) Project implementation
c) Project closure.
This
is a project management role, an important aspect of which is
contributing to leadership within IDEV to improve project management
practices through awareness of best practice and client expectations in
program effectiveness and efficiency. The role will expect interest in,
and promotion of, current development trends as they impact upon project
and program management.
Specific tasks to be undertaken directly or through
coordination of others include:
Team
mobilisation covering preparation of Terms of Reference, recruitment,
contracting and travel, assisted by the URS recruitment team;
d)
Project office start-up including refit where approved, equipment
purchase where allowed in accordance with URS and client contract
requirements;
e) Preparation and peer review of project
documentation and procedures in compliance with both URS and the client
contract requirements in conjunction with the project team and/or the
URS project management team, including management of the training of the
project team;
a) Establishing and implementation of financial
management systems in compliance with both URS and client contract
requirements in
conjunction with the project team, the financial managers of URS and
inputs from the URS project management team. This will require working
with proprietary accounting packages commensurate with an organisation
the size of URS;
b) Undertake proactive day-to-day management
of the project through liaison with the project team and the client to
the satisfaction of all stakeholders;
c)
Monitor preparation of, and provide accurate reports on, project
progress to both URS management, the URS Principal in Charge and where
required, to the client, to the requirements of all. Reports shall be
for both contract progress and contract financial data;
d) Undertake performance management of projects and teams; and
e)
Management of project closure including disposal of assets, termination
or demobilisation of team members and finalisation of reporting
obligations.
Business Development:
Assist
with the expansion of IDEV business through identification of
opportunities and team members, undertaking client contact and
establishing positive relationships and contributing to proposal
preparation. This role will be carried out in conjunction with the
Business Development Manager in Jakarta.
