International NGO seeks a Program Officer.
The primary responsibilities will be to Coordinate and implement
assigned projects and programs of IFES projects in Indonesia.
The position is Jakarta based and full time.
Fixed Term Contract for 6 Months duration period.
Anticipated start immediately.
IFES is an international, nonprofit organization that supports the building of democratic societies. IFES
promotes democratic stability by providing technical assistance and
applying field-based research to the electoral cycle in countries around
the world to enhance citizen participation and strengthen civil
societies, governance and transparency. Founded in 1987 as a
nonpartisan, nonprofit organization, IFES has developed and implemented
comprehensive, collaborative democracy solutions in more than 120
countries. Currently we are seeking Program Officer to help project implementation in IFES Indonesia.
Scope of Work:
a) Provide
IFES Indonesia and partner organization with advice on the full range
of technical and operational issues relating to elections – for example,
voter registration, voting and counting processes, election logistics,
as required;
b) Proactively
seek out ways to assist electoral partner organizations in all areas
related to access for people with disabilities to elections;
c) Undertake
research and write reports on issues related to the conduct of
elections, based on IFES experience and/or international best practice;
d) Liaise closely with members and officials of Indonesia’s electoral institutions and support ongoing working relationship,
e) Coordinate
the planning, administration and logistics for special events
undertaken by IFES in the area of election management trainings,
workshops or other events;
f) Coordinate
and implement assigned projects and programs aimed at increasing
electoral information through mass media and other direct forms of
communication;
g) Coordinate
electoral information activities with civil society actors, and partner
organizations within the public and private sectors, as required;
h) Monitor
and ensure the quality of voter information products and programs,
assess their impact, and make recommendations aimed at improving quality
or impact as required.
i) Assist
with the translation of technical documents from Bahasa Indonesia to
English (and vice versa) in standard electoral wording, as required;
j) Report regularly on project activities to the Head of Program and The Deputy Chief of Party;
k) Undertake such as other duties as may be requested/directed from time to time;
l) Travel as required;
Requirements:
· At least 3 years or comparable of experience of working in an International environment.
· Previous experience engage with people with disability program and/or prior experience engage with DPOs;
· Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia, both written and oral;
· A high level of self-motivation and ability to work autonomously within a fast-paced environment;
· Strong analytical skills;
· Ability to take initiative and work within tight deadlines;
· Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Programs, Excel, Internet) required;
· Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and ability to make independent decisions; and
· A degree in political science or related field.
