GIZ Vacancy - PR Professional for RE Project, Jakarta

GIZ has a record of more than 20 years of involvement in renewable energy (RE) in Indonesia. Starting from rural electrification and mini hydropower, the portfolio expanded to other renewable energies and larger grid connected systems such as biomass/biogas and photovoltaics.  GIZ in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) and the ASEAN Centre for Energy is presently implementing four projects:
  • Renewable Energy Support Programme for ASEAN (ASEAN - RESP),
  • Energizing Development Indonesia (EnDev ID) 
  • Promotion of Least Cost Renewables in Indonesia (LCORE), 
  • Project Development Programme Renewable Energy Indonesia (PEP Indonesia),

GIZ seeks qualified Indonesian candidates for one position PR Professional
A.     Responsibilities
  • Dealing with Public Relation (PR) related matters within the RE Programme Indonesia/ASEAN  
  • Linguistic quality assurance for project and partner documents in English / Bahasa Indonesia 
  • Information and knowledge management in and between the projects and with relevant stakeholders
  • Managing knowledge by documenting and disseminating know-how, experience and information
The PR professional performs the following tasks:
B.     Tasks
1.      Information / Knowledge Management
  • Actively gathering information about the project activities e.g. through interviewing advisors and issuing articles and short summaries ready to be published 
  • Coordinating all media activities (drafting and sending out press releases, compiling assembling and distributing media information materials for specific target groups and coordinating with the GIZ Office regarding PR) 
  • Compiling a regular media review (documentation and analysis of relevant media reports on Renewable Energies in the ASEAN region and Indonesia) 
  • Revising reports and documents in English/ Bahasa Indonesia 
  • Translation activities English/ Bahasa Indonesia 
  • Collecting and disseminating notifications on RE-related tender announcements, workshop and conference announcements and other RE activities by third parties 
  • Coordinating regular meetings of the PR working group in the RE Programme with focal points of each project
2.      International and National PR work
  • Developing and implementing suitable communication tools for national and international dissemination  of information 
  • Coordinating necessary processes to produce publications and materials in accordance with GIZ and partner standards (corporate design, project design, standards for content)   
  • Supporting the organisation of events (workshops, seminars, conferences, etc.) 
  • Managing the various project websites and coordinating the regular update with the focal persons for PR in each project
3.      Internal communications 
  • Passing on information and supporting dialogue amongst the GIZ RE projects and between the RE Programme and the GIZ Office 
  • Further developing appropriate internal information instruments (newsletters or similar)
4.      Other duties/additional tasks
  • Performing other duties and tasks at the request of management
C.     Required qualifications, competences and experience

Qualifications
  • BA/MA or comparable qualification,  journalism, PR/communications or comparable
Professional experience
  • 3-5 years in a comparable position (1-3 years for Junior Professional)
Other knowledge, additional competences
  • Excellent knowledge in English, especially in writing 
  • Good working knowledge of ITC technologies ( MS Office and other related software) 
  • Good experience in writing articles and conducting interviews 
  • Experience in working with web pages and social media 
  • Ability to express oneself well both verbally and in writing; polished, target-group oriented style 
  • Ideally, basic knowledge of graphics applications
