FAO Project Vacancy - National Consultant on Integrated Pest Management, Jakarta

Project Reference : TCP/INS/3403 - Strengthening and Revitalization of Integrated Implementation and Pesticides Management System in Indonesia.
FAO Indonesia currently is looking for Candidate to fill in the position of NATIONAL CONSULTANT ON INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT
Terms of Reference for National Consultant
(Integrated Pest Management)
Duty Station : Jakarta and training sites
Duration : 12 Weeks (84 days) in 3 Missions
Under the overall supervision and guidance of the FAO Representative in Indonesia and the technical supervision of the FAO RAP (AGP), Bangkok and in close coordination with Director Plant Protection (National Project Coordinator) and TCDC Consultant (Integrated Pest Management) and in close cooperation with other consultants, he will undertake the following duties:
Tasks and responsibility :
1. Provide assistance to TCDC-Consultant in reviewing the existing IPM extension programmes in rice in the 6 rice growing districts of Indonesia covered under the project
 

2. Planning of IPM ToT training for extension officers, refresher training of farmer trainers; IPM-FFS in first three districts of Indonesia in consultation with TCDC-Consultant
 

3. Provide assistance in reviewing and updating of TOT module for IPM in rice for Agriculture Extension officers & IPM-FFS in rice and suggest improvement.
 

4. Associate with TCDC-Consultant in organizing training of trainers (TOT) on IPM in rice for agriculture/extension personnel at selected sites in first three districts of Indonesia in consultation with National Consultant;
 

5. Associate with organize refresher training to farmer trainers in Landscape-scale IPM Extension programmes in first of three districts
 

6. Preparing IPM booklets and publicity material for distribution to farmers during farmer’s field day in consultation with TCDC-Consultant;
 

7. Planning of IPM ToT training for extension officers, refresher training of farmer trainers; IPM-FFS in rest three districts of Indonesia covered under the Project in association with TCDC-Consultant;
 

8. Associate with TCDC-Consultant in organizing training of trainers (TOT) on IPM in rice for agriculture/extension personnel at selected sites in rest three districts covered under the Project;
 

9. Associate with TCDC-Consultant in organizing refresher training of farmer trainers in Landscape-scale IPM-extension programmes in rest three districts covered under the project
 

10. Facilitate in organizing IPM awareness raising programmes by district felicitators in six districts covered under the project.
 

11. Facilitate in organizing farmer’s field demonstration studies (12 sites) in IPM package of practices in rice through district felicitators in six districts covered under the project
 

12. Provide assistance to TCDC-Consultant in developing appropriate action plan for sustaining the Landscape scale IPM-Extension programme
 

13. Assist NPC in planning and organizing National workshop at the end of project and participate in National workshop; and,
 

14. Prepare and submit final mission report
Eligibility: • Minimum qualification is master degree in any field of plant protection
 

• Having minimum 5 years of experience in facilitating programs related to IPM FFS and its follow-up activities.
 

• Having experience in working with University, Government / Policy Makers and Media.
