Save
the Children is an international non-profit organization that focuses
on the fulfillment of children’s right. Save the Children was first
established
in May 1919 in the U.K. and to date has 28 Save the Children Offices
and operations in more than 120 countries worldwide. In 1976, Save the
Children signed an MoU with the Ministry of Social Affairs of the
Republic of Indonesia, followed then by the operations
of Save the Children throughout Indonesia. Currently, Save the Children
work in 11 provinces with a variety of program areas, such as:
Education, Health and Sanitation, Livelihood, Child Protection also
Disaster Risk Reduction.
Now we are looking for a job linkage consultant that will develop
strong relationship with private sector and association to support opportunity for job linkage between youth and private sector
Save the Children currently implementing Skill to Succeed have partnered to support youth from vulnerable communities to to acquire skills and competencies and to pursue
their employment aspirations and perform jobs well
The empowering
Youth Program
through Skills to
Succeed aims to provide opportunities for
young people aged 16-24 years
from low income and vulnerable communities to gain
the skills and competence
to pursue their work aspirations
and do a good job.
In general, the elements of these programs are:
- Conducting labor market assessment to identify work opportunities and the specific skills needed for youth to be successfully employed in safe and preferred jobs.
- Provide information and support skills training and entrepreneurship for young people
- Develop strong working relationships with government, associations, companies and NGOs in order to link youth to apprenticeships/internships and jobs.
- Supporting the development of effective long-term policy for youth employment.
Skill to Succeed is a two year project (1 June 2012 to 30 June 2014) funded by Accenture.
Job Responsibilities:
- As a Save the Children representative to make contact and lead meetings/workshops with private sector actors and associations in Bandung to support Skill to Succeed
- Develop a list of high potential private sector partners for job linkage, apprenticeship and financial institutions to support start-up businesses of S2S beneficiaries
- Develop and formalize (if needed) the partnerships and provide ongoing support to facilitate the process of linking youth with the identified opportunities
- Work closely with S2S management team and LNGO partners to establish a robust system for information sharing on jobs & apprenticeships so youth get timely information and are able to avail of the opportunities.
- Actively maintain the partnership relationships and follow up with employers to provide a feedback loop for the program team.
QUALIFICATION:
- Bachelors University Degree from relevant field
- At least 5 years work experience with building relationship with private sector, association and creative industries
- At least 4 years experience in youth business, apprenticeship and job linkage programs
- Knowledge and skills in methods to promote improvements relationship with private sector and association in job linkage opportunity .
- Proven skills to develop an implementation plan and then efficiently implement activities
- Demonstrated ability to write high quality reports and other project documents in Indonesian and English
