Chemonics International, a global
international development consulting firm (www.chemonics.com) seeks qualified Indonesian
specialists for the USAID Higher Education Leadership and Management (HELM)
project in Indonesia. HELM aims to improve the academic performance of
Indonesia’s higher education sector through analytical support for strategic
planning, policy analysis, and capacity development approaches for effective
implementation of key reforms throughout Indonesia’s higher education sector.

CORE TECHNICAL ASSISTANT
The
Core Technical Assistant is responsible for providing support to HELM partner
higher education institutions (HEIs) through support to the technical team in
preparing project capacity development activities. Specific tasks will include
ensuring all related technical preparations are in place, participants have
needed information and event reporting is completed accurately and clearly
filed. Core Technical Assistants will be responsible to support technical
specialists as well as particular HELM events and activities. Program
assistants will provide some of the HEI level monitoring as required. The Core
Technical Assistant will be based in Jakarta but will be expected to travel
approximately 7 days each month.
As
teamwork is crucial to the success of the project, the Core Technical Assistant
will be required to coordinate with other technical, operations and
cross-cutting HELM staff, and may be required to complete other tasks as
requested by DCOP and the Chief of Party.
The
Core Technical Assistant will report directly to the D-COP. S/he will prepare regular progress reports that
demonstrate the status of relevant capacity development activities and follow
up, as well as other reports as required. The Core Technical Assistant under
guidance from Technical specialist will coordinate work with Capacity
Development Specialist.
Eligibility Requirements for this
Position
- S1 Degree in education, administration, management or relevant field is required, S2 degree is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of working experience with development partner/development project in social development, higher education, administration or related field is required.
- Strong computer skills required, English language skills preferred.
- Must be organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to work well on teams.
- Must be interested in working with a multi-cultural, international team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
