Location: The Programme Manager will be located in Sumba, Indonesia.
Duration: 12 months

Role Description 
  • The Programme Manager (PM) will manage and grow the Sumba Foundation Australia’s (SFA) Malaria Eradication Program and Water & Sanitation Programs in accordance with SFA’s mission and goals 
  • Monitor the programs and other activities, consolidate and analyse data, and present findings to stakeholders
  • Identify and research new growth opportunities for the Water, Sanitation and Malaria programs
  • Work with the Australian Board of Directors to refine program evaluation and impact tracking framework
  • Budget, track and report on program-related funds on a monthly and annual basis
  • Identify risks and take appropriate measures to control for them
  • Implement the Organization’s human resources policies and practices
  • Supervise Sumbanese staff, providing direction and feedback
  • Conduct performance appraisals of all local staff
  • In consultation with the Australia Board, recruit, interview, and select qualified program staff
  • Manage international visitors and coordinate necessary logistics
  • Lead and drive behavioural change in local communities
  • Ensure that all Sumba operations are run efficiently and effectively so that the quality of SFA’s programs remains high while costs are controlled 
  • Excellent communication skills across a variety of different groups – government, local communities, and local companies
Requirements
  • Open to citizens and residents of Indonesia with existing work permits 
  • At least two years of diverse project management experience, including monitoring and evaluation, expense tracking and staff management
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple time-sensitive tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledge of water project implementation and maintenance highly desired
  • Excellent interpersonal, cultural communication and written skills
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment
  • Previous work or travel experience in developing countries
  • Graduate degree in relevant field preferred
  • Oral and written mastery of both English and Bahasa Indonesia
  • Ability health-wise and willingness to travel (mostly within South East Asia) for up to four-five months per year in total 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Salary and benefits
A management salary competitive in the Indonesian development sector will be applicable for this position. All other statutory benefits related to medical and pension will be applicable as per the Indonesian government rules.
