SNV seeks a talented, entrepreneurial, result oriented and proven professional who will lead the Indonesia country team in realizing SNV’s poverty reduction mission through the delivery of high quality programs in Agriculture, Water & Sanitation, and Renewable Energy.

SNV is an international not-for-profit development organization working in over 30 of the poorest countries worldwide for more than 40 years. SNV is currently engaged in establishing full operations in Indonesia.

SNV is committed to reducing poverty by catalyzing environmentally sustainable solutions for the poor in the agriculture, energy, water & sanitation sectors, while simultaneously responding to climate change implications in these sectors.

As Country Director, you are the overall leader of SNV’s Indonesia program. You will be required to upscale and strategically strengthen the country program, while ensuring high quality delivery. You will be required to remain informed about, and engaged with national and state level development priorities; to stimulate engagement of citizens and their organizations in determining key local issues; and to stimulate the verification and flow of key development evidence to policy makers.

You will forge partnerships and alliances between SNV and important national and international actors, and create a core set of focused partnerships. You will lead resource mobilization efforts for the country program.

You will coach; support and guide staff to strengthen efficacy in delivering poverty reduction programs and projects; effectively uphold SNV corporate and national policies, and foster a practice of learning, documentation and evidence based knowledge development.

Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership to the Indonesia program within the overall parameters of SNV’s global strategy. Lead resource mobilization efforts in the country developing new projects and ensuring a solid growth of the Indonesia program from a diverse funding base. Provide project implementation oversight ensuring high quality delivery to the satisfaction of key stakeholders and following SNV’s and donor’s financial standards and monitoring protocols. Manage, mentor and coach the country team; stimulate individual as well as team development; monitor individual and team performance against key indicators. Represent and profile SNV, build partnerships, maintain excellent relationships with donors, partners, local governments, businesses, policy makers and other relevant stakeholders. Foster innovation of SNV products and services; facilitate learning, documentation and evidence based knowledge development in collaboration with SNV’s global team and partners; ensure collaboration with renowned knowledge institutes and networks.

Candidate profile
Master’s degree, or equivalent preferably in any of the following areas: public policy, urban/regional planning, public or business administration, social/political science, development studies, economics, agriculture, energy or water; Knowledge and understanding at strategic level of the international development context and trends in SNV’s three core sectors; Proven ability of mobilizing resources from the public and private sector; familiarity with key financiers and actors in SNV’s 3 core sectors Excellent networking and positioning skills, being able to relate to international organizations, businesses, local governments and other stakeholders; Strong communication and sales skills; 8 years relevant management experience, preferably in multifaceted development work; Ability to coach, lead, stimulate, and inspire professionals in a development context; Entrepreneurial and result oriented attitude; tactful and open minded; Experience of working in Asia will be an added advantage; Proficient in English.

Educational facilities: There are international schooling systems up to IB level in English and French in Jakarta.
