The British Council in Indonesia is recruiting for the post of : Information and Communication Technology Officer (ICT)
1 (one) position, Jakarta
Minimum IDR5,360,000 gross monthly salary and excellent benefits, for a fixed period of one year (renewable)
This post will work proactively to assist the Business Services Team with professional and reliable support to deliver high quality products, services and/or projects outcomes to internal/external customer / client / partner / stakeholder to meet British Council’s strategic objectives.
Accountabilities, responsibilities and main duties:
1. IT Administrative and Logistical Enquiries

This post will work proactively to assist the Business Services Team with professional and reliable support to deliver high quality products, services and/or projects outcomes to internal/external customer / client / partner / stakeholder to meet British Council’s strategic objectives.
Accountabilities, responsibilities and main duties:
1. IT Administrative and Logistical Enquiries
- Manage and maintain up-to-date inventory of hardware (e.g. GTI and non GTI related devices) and software licences/equipment
- Give advice for IT logistical needs.
- Assist staff or visitors to follow-up IT logistical needs and others related requests when needed.
2. Software and Hardware Support
- Support on Windows application e.g. Word, Excel, outlook, etc.
- Responsible for calling or actually doing hardware support on printers, Laptop/Desktop, PCs servers and active network components, etc.
- Implementation of new changes as required by ICT management and explanation to staff on its implication.
- Responsible for re-installation of workstation and deploying application as agreed
- Provide technical management support to all ICT projects and initiative (VC, VOIP, audio conference).
- Technical responsibility for all communication technology devices and equipment e.g. telephone system, PABX, etc.
3. Server and Security Devices Related Support
- Executing daily/weekly and monthly backup and task as advised in the IT handbook and corporate guidance.
- Maintaining up to date current user list on server.
- Help regional IT hub/CIT in re-installation of servers in case of disasters/blackouts and brown outs.
- Maintaining all security devices (e.g. CCTV, access cards permission, etc).
4. Execution of Global and Regional IT initiative.
- In coordination with regional IT Hub to in line with British council policy
- To update any progress and found issue.
- To bind any issue from staff in order to raise and report to related person.
5. User Support and Troubleshoot
- Becoming first point of contact for any IT issue occurred.
- Providing consultation for IT related matter to all staff.
- To inform impacted staff.
- To report to GSD any issue happened.
- To find out any possible workaround.
- To inform contingency workaround.
6. Deliver training and Device Manual To British Council Staff
- Induction of new staff for IT device usage and GTI infrastructure
- To inform whether there is a new device installed (e.g. new printer, new scanner)
7. Maintenance
- Assist BSM to find a proper vendor for IT device maintenance.
- Dealing with hardware and software vendors for all hardware and software in the event that is necessary.
- Dealing with M/E and communication vendors regularly.
8. Policy and Strategy
- Involved in development and implementation of business continuity plan
- Provide the corporate management with constructive IT feedback as required
- Developing/maintaining/implementing local IT policy and strategy.
9. Reporting
- To do periodic report: backup report, restore backup test report, IT usage log, Phone billing report, and maintenance works,
- To do ad hoc report; Technician log book, IT device maintenance report, Project Report (Regional, Global, and Local Initiative).
- To maintain report of IT inventory regularly.
The successful applicant will need to be able to demonstrate:
- Experience in English and education services.
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Indonesian.
- Competence in use of MS Office.
- Possession of a bachelor degree (S1).
- Professionalism in outlook, approach to work and appearance.
