The World Agroforestry Centre (also known as the International Centre for Research in Agroforestry or ICRAF) is an independent research institution which generates science-based knowledge about the complex role trees play in agricultural landscapes and rural livelihoods. As part of the Centre’s work to bring tree-based solutions to bear on poverty and environmental problems, researchers – working in close collaboration with partners – are developing new technologies, tools and policy recommendations for increased food security and ecosystem health.

About the position
Under the supervision of Environmental Economist, the LUWES Project officer will supports a team of scientist in planning, implementing, documenting and monitoring of various project related to land use planning for multiple environment services.
With guidance from Project Coordinators, she/he will also work closely with the relevant stakeholders involved, and will report to the Project Coodinator on regular basis. The position will specifically working on:
- ParCimon: Participatory monitoring by civil society of land use planning for low emission development strategies (funded by EU)
- LAMA-I: Locally appropriate mitigation actions in Indonesia (funded by DANIDA)
- GE-LAMA: Green Economy and Locally Appropriate Mitigation Actions in Indonesia (funded by BMU) However, it will also be possible to work on other new coming projects.
The primary duties and responsibilities are:
Project management in consultation with Project Coordinator
- Support and monitor contracts and contracts implementation for partners in conducting research or other services under EU, Danida and BMU projects
- Collaborate closely with team of scientist primarily in Economic and Policy Unit, Spatial Analysis Unit and Ecological Modelling Unit in implementing ParCiMon, LAMA-I and GE-LAMA activities
- Prepare and assists in developing project technical annual report for the program and also the annual workplan and budget, such as preparing summaries, checking the layout, the completeness of such reports, list of abbreviations and appendices.
- Support in project evaluation at the end of the project in consultation with the Project Coordinator.
- Arrange for periodic meetings of related staff to plan and implement ParCiMon, LAMA-I and GE-LAMA activities.
- Ensure donor compliance and coherence between narrative and financial report
- Support development of adequate publication and dissemination – with Information Unit (IFU) develop project communication strategy and dissemination of program outcomes, also corporate communication whenever needed e.g. technical content for public awareness or web information
Partnership and networking
- Attend in and maintain documentation of meetings, workshops, seminars as requested by Project Coordinator
- Arrange for periodic discussion and communication with network members Communication
- Preparing of communication plan.
- Monitor and supervise the implementation of communication strategy and assist in evaluating it at the end of the project.
- Maintain and update the ParCiMon, LAMA-I and GE-LAMA website regularly.
- Bachelor degree in forestry or natural resource management.
- Having knowledge on climate change and natural resources management issues are preferable.
- Good networking skills and knowledge on local and national NGOs in Indonesia
- Excellent communication skills both in English and Bahasa Indonesia (reading, writing, verbal and presentation).
- At least five years of relevant experience, preferably related to communication, project management or forestry, natural resource management.
- Experience in working with NGOs and government institutions.
- Experience in developing communication plan and website maintenance.

- Computer literate (on Window based-systems including Excel and ACCESS).
- Good knowledge of negotiations
- Good understanding of time management
- Strong character, multitasking person and able to work under pressure
- Having interest in receiving feedback from others
