The Jhpiego Indonesia programs are aimed to improve maternal and newborn health outcomes in Indonesia. We are currently implementing EMAS ( Expanding Maternal & Newborn Survival ) program in Indonesia funded by USAID.

Provincial Senior Advisor - ( PSA_location )

Department: EMAS
Position Reports To: Deputy Provincial Operations
Positions Supervised: None

Location: 
  • One position in Medan, North Sumatera Province
  • One position in Serang, Banten Province   
Overview:
The USAID/Indonesia Expanding Maternal and Neonatal Survival (EMAS) Project, Cooperative Agreement Number AID-497-A¬-11-00014, is a five year program to support the Government of Indonesia (GOI) to reduce maternal and newborn mortality. EMAS works with Indonesian government agencies (national, provincial and local), Civil Society Organizations, public and private health facilities, health professional organizations, and the private sector. The project is expected to result in an overall 25% decline in national maternal and newborn mortality

The Provincial Senior Advisor will provide assistances in strengthening referral system . He/she will work closely with the Jakarta-based Deputy for Provincial Operations, who is responsible for the overall strategic direction and oversight for provincial and district-level activities across the EMAS program.  The Provincial Senior Advisor will represent the Jhpiego program amongst government and private-sector stakeholders at the provincial and district level. 

Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing all provincial and district-level activities including:
    • Cultivating strategic relationships and alliances with Local Health Offices, Hospitals, professional organizations and the other local non-governmental organizations and donors including private sector partnerships 
    • Coordinate and collaborate with government officials, stakeholders, Jhpiego staff and consultants for effective implementation
    • Attending the POKJA province and districts meeting and assist the strategy of expansion and replication of EMAS program including in province and districts budget and planning.
    • Ensure the supervision of facilities team have schedule on referral assessment, including how to analyze and how to follow up.
    • Coordinating with technical team members in the design, analysis, and synthesis of interventions 
    • Give advice on strategy in accepting clinical governance and routine assessment within facilities and strengthening supervision system in facilities. 
    • Assist in preparing mentoring team and implementing mentoring between facilities
  • Work closely with Deputy for Provincial Operations to lead the design and implementation of all activities to ensure necessary technical input and coordination to achieve desired results
  • Advise provincial and district counterparts on technical issues and participate in relevant technical advisory groups with counterparts and partner institutions, while ensuring overall technical quality of Jhpiego and/or EMAS processes and products. 
  • Troubleshoot to prevent and resolve potential problems and review outputs for quality control
  • Work closely with Provincial Program Manager to work on all programmatic aspects
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with colleagues and donors in country and region
  • Keep Deputy for Provincial Operations informed of successes, challenges, and lessons learned. Work with Headquarters, to ensure smooth implementation of all program activities and to monitor financial and contractual obligations.
Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in health or social sciences or a related field
  • A minimum of fifteen years of mid to senior level experience in designing, implementing or managing large, complex projects in developing countries
  • Previous experience working with USAID
  • Experience in maternal and newborn health and/or community interventions preferred
  • Familiar with the Indonesia health system, key stakeholders and relevant government policies/strategies
  • Resident of local area preferred (see Job Location above)
  • Experience and demonstrated ability working with government health programs, counterparts and systems
  • Proven depth and breadth of technical and management expertise and experience
  • Strong ability to work and communicate within team members
  • Demonstrated excellence in oral and written Indonesian language; English language proficiency preferred
  • Ability to work independently and to exercise independent judgment
  • Ability to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise confidentiality and professionalism
  • Microsoft Office computer skills, proficiency in Word, Excel , Power Point and Outlook

Finance & Admin. Officer - ( FAO Makassar )

Department: Finance and Administration
Position Reports To: Finance and Administration Director & Provincial Program Manager
Positions Supervised: Admin Assistant/Receptionist
Location: Makassar, South Sulawesi

Overview:
The Finance and Admin. Officer will assist the program and technical staff in the implementation of Jhpiego financial policies and procedure. Administer and monitor the Jhpiego finances to ensure that the financial systems are maintained in an accurate and timely manner.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement Jhpiego financial policies and procedures and adhere to donor rules and regulations.
  • Assist in developing the program activity budget 
  • Assist program and technical staff on money disbursement during program activity
  • Assist program and technical staff on making reconciliation report
  • Review the completeness of reconciliation report
  • Review staff travel expenses report.
  • Establish and maintain cash controls
  • Guide and orient program staff in preparing travel expense and advance reconciliation report
  • Review petty cash expenditure
  • Conduct routine petty cash count
  • Work with internal and external auditor when necessary
  • Review office supply requisitions
  • Assist program and technical staff in day to day activity that related to finance and admin
  • Coordinate with Finance and Admin Jakarta team
Qualifications/Knowledge, skills and experience:
  • Bachelor/S1 degree in Finance/Accounting.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in finance and accounting. 
  • Good knowledge in accounting of INGO, specifically in project budget and financial reporting.
  • Understand of Indonesian Tax Regulations.
  • Excellent computer skill, especially MS Excel and knowledge of other Microsoft Office programs.
  • Fluency in written and oral English is compulsory.
  • Diligent, honest and mature worker, willing to work under pressure.
  • Able to work independently and under minimum supervision, but with a spirit of teamwork.
  • Tactful and excellent analytical thinking. 
Driver – ( Dvr_ Banten )

Department: Finance & Administration
Position Reports To: Finance & Adm. Officer
Positions Supervised: None
Location: Serang, Banten Province
Overview :
Performs work in the operation of a vehicle to assure safe transportation of clients to and from various destinations and to assist clients on entry and exit from vehicles as necessary.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare Vehicle by conducting operator maintenance 
  • Plan Route and requirements by studying schedule or ad-hoc requests by the office
  • Transport the managing level/staff and guests for office purposed 
  • Fulfill special requests the office by picking up and delivering items as directed and running errands
  • Maintain passenger confidence by keeping information strictly confidential
  • Any other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
Working knowledge of the rules and regulations involved in the safe and efficient operation of automotive equipment.

Required Skills: Safety First and Good Driving Habits
Is attentive to the needs of the Managing level/staff
Respond quickly and competently to the Managing/staff  requests related to the job
Has excellent attendance and positive attitude to the job
must possess a valid driver's license issued

Experience in the operation of small/ large vehicles, either manual or matic Knowledge of basic automotive maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to deal effectively and patiently with others.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to operate lift equipment and to correctly secure wheelchairs and other mobility devices.
  • Employee must possess a valid driver's license issued
