Program Officer – Indonesia
Background
STATT designs and implements responses to challenges that cross
borders. We specialize in understanding and acting on transnational
linkages between communities, governments and civil societies. Our
purpose is to seize the opportunities and mitigate the threats that
accompany globalisation.
We run five thematic programs that have covered 30 countries in the
last year. Our major operational hubs are in Indonesia, Afghanistan,

The Position
STATT is seeking expressions of interest from suitably bright,
motivated and dynamic individuals interested in a position with STATT as
a Program Officer (PO). The role is full-time with benefits and would
be suited to someone seeking to build professional experience. The role
will commence in early March 2013, with a minimum term concluding in
September 2013 and the possibility of a continuing and role.
The Program Officer (PO)’s overall function is to ensure integrity of
data and provide support to program development for Indonesia and
global through collecting, managing and analysing existing databases,
providing support to brand marketing and program development.
The PO will report to STATT Indonesia Director of Programs, who will
provide general supervision and support as well as task supervision.
Main Responsibilities
Reporting to STATT’s Director of Programs – Indonesia, the PO will be accountable for:
- Organising and providing cleaned data sets to STATT’s quantitative analysts.
- Identifying opportunities for data collection and analysis that supports STATT’s program development in Indonesia.
- Providing responsive program development support, including translation of project and marketing documents.
- Managing STATT’s networking and contact data.
- Providing excellent first-line contact and support to STATT’s network of local partners, primarily small and medium-sized NGOS, including to channel inquiries to appropriate STATT personnel.
- Supporting authors and program personnel in the creation and dissemination of STATT publications, such as analytical reports and newsletters.
- Increasing STATT’s brand impact in Indonesia through online outreach and community management.

The PO will work the hours necessary to carry out his/her role, not
to exceed 42 hours/week except in extraordinary circumstances. The PO
will be based in Jakarta. The position may require some travel outside
of Jakarta, for which all related expenses will be covered by STATT.
Qualifications
We will assess your suitability for the role against your demonstrated capacity for:
- Constructing and managing databases, including to organise structured data into forms ready for analysis.
- Performing statistical analysis.
- Translating project and marketing documents between English and Indonesian.
- Executing complex tasks with an attention to detail.
- Working with limited supervision.
- Working in areas related to STATT’s thematic programs.
